89 Benefits of a Deeper, Quieter Life
We recorded this episode on Sun. April 12, 2020, which marks 31 days of our self-quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This episode’s opening convo includes:
attending ‘virtual’ social events; who’s Zooming who?
reinvigorated relationships with friends and family
playing a cat lady card game: Cantankerous Cats
how smartphones cut both ways: it’s a service, it’s can also sabotage
After that, we talk more specifically about the deep benefits of quiet and stillness.
One of the pleasant side effects of our various “stay at home” initiatives around the world has been the cleaner air and water. We’ve gotten a glimpse of the beauty available, if we would just stop hurting our own home. From clear canal water in Venice, to views of the Himalayas in India (now visible for the first time in 30 years), we’re seeing the beautiful future that humanity can create, if we can just evolve away from fossil fuels.
Pollution can occur in many mediums: air, water, light, sound, and also – thought and emotions.
We hope all of us can nurture a practice of quiet and stillness during this time.
A lifestyle like this builds people who are richer in life, stronger in spirit, and therefore, more useful in a crisis.
